Sugar Ann was purchased in 1987 as an 8 month old for $20,000. The next fall she was entered in the First World Champion Heifer Futurity and won 1st Place and $10,000.00 prize money and a pregnancy was sold out
of her for $5,500.00. In less than a year we had recouped our purchase price and Sugar Ann was on her way towards making many hundreds of thousands of dollars and stamping the Beefmaster breed for future
generations with her quality progeny. Sugar Ann has been one of the top performing donor females in our herd by producing Total Balanced
Performance Progeny that excel in performance, fertility, milk production, good udders, superior conformation, and superior breeding bulls. Sugar Ann has produced offspring that are top herd sires and superior producing donors not only in our herd but in herds all over the United States and several foreign countries. Her son, Red Sugar won the Texas Tech Feedlot Daily Gain Test with his steers averaging 4.3 lbs per day in actual feedlot gainability. Sugar Ann’s grandson Synergy, continues that superior weight performance in his offspring. She has produced cattle over the last 16 years that continue to dominate the Beefmaster breed, including Red Sugar, Captain Sugar, Ten, Totally Sugar, Sugar Cotton, Sugarman,
Ernestine, Tiger Sugar, Sugar Queen, Pure Sugar, Sugar Poppa, Sugar Momma and many other notable females and bulls too numerous to list. Our Young Herd Sire, Captain Sugar, was Sugar Ann’s natural calf at 16 years of age. Sugar Ann is definitely the elite proven donor of the breed.
